Our namesake John Wood created a legacy that began with a pioneer spirit, flourished as a craftsman and farmer, then founded our main campus’ host community of Quincy before becoming a statesman as mayor of Quincy, then governor of Illinois. The qualities that distinguished John Wood can be found in every one of us. John Wood dared to dream, and then he worked to make his dreams real.
